Personal History:

There was something to be said about the song.  You'll Never Leave Harlan Alive.  Nate Hudson hadn't even tried.  There had been too many others who had failed, leaving them in an even worse position than they'd started out trying to escape.  Born and raised in the rough backwoods of Harlan County, he'd seen and lived the vicious and ruthless wilds of the eastern hills of Kentucky that even made lawmen approach with great caution.  He'd done what he had to get out from under his father's thumb and struck out on his own.  It didn't take long to realize that a person needed some sort of protection in numbers out this way.   The Head Hunters had proviced that and also gave him something he hadn't realized he'd been missing; a real family.  While not blood born, they were sworn brothers he could always depend on.  In return, he'd sworn his own loyalty and devotion, not backing down from this equally violent and aggressive lifestyle.   He'd become a Head Hunter, he'd die a Head Hunter.  That's just the way it would be.
